Event Description

Owning a private practice can be an exciting adventure.  It is often brought about by the desire for autonomy and an increased stream of revenue.  Unfortunately, many owners find themselves burned out and confused about how to effectively manage their business. This has a negative impact on the mental health field due to therapists/owners leaving the field because they didn’t understand how to optimize their business for sustainability. This training will give an overview of things to consider when owning your own business as well as steps to take when identifying and implementing ways to grow.

Members only event - you must be logged in to Wild Apricot to register.

About the Presenter

As Founder and Clinical Director of A New View Counseling and Psychological Services Kathrine has found an outlet through which to express her boundless energy and creativity, and her deep passion for serving her community. Kathrine started A New View in 2013 as a solo mental health practitioner, renting an office from a State Farm agent and working in the evening after his business was closed. Her intent was to generate a little extra income to provide for the needs of her family while she worked a day job at Huntsman Cancer Center as a neurooncology social worker. Demand for her services quickly outpaced her evenings-only availability, so she resigned her post at Huntsman and moved offices to allow for seeing clients throughout the day. Within a year she hired an additional therapist and now directs an agency consisting of 16 clinicians with two locations.  While cognizant of the importance of directing a thriving  business, Kathrine’s chief ambition is to provide a service that helps people reduce the anxiety that stems from traumatic life events, navigate life transitions, and address symptoms that arise from chronic mental health conditions.
