Professional/Personal Biography
Dr. Kuhn has been in private practice for over a decade and founded One Haven, PLLC. They were formerly the clinical director of the Mothers and Children's program at Cornerstone Counseling Center. Moreover, they are adjunct faculty at the University of Utah and supervise doctoral students in the Counseling Psychology program. Dr. Kuhn also volunteers their time as a board member of the LGBTQ Affirmative Psychotherapists Guild of Utah, Women in Private Practice, and the Salt Lake City Public Utilities board.

Dr. Kuhn specializes in working with transgender and gender expansive children, teens, and young adults and has presented at numerous conferences on this topic over the years. Dr. Kuhn is also a full member of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH). They utilize evidence based approaches in their work with the gender diverse community that are informed by WPATH Standards of Care and the Endocrine Society Guidelines.

Moreover, Dr. Kuhn works with transgender and gender expansive parents and their children, as the parents process living their authentic selves with their children. Dr. Kuhn also provides services for young adults up to the age of 26 who are part of the gender expansive or sexually diverse community or developmentally delayed. Additionally, their practice includes conducting the following evaluations: learning disabilities, psychological, neuropsychological, and gender evaluations as requested by the courts.

Overall, as a child and adolescent psychologist and past registered play therapist Dr. Kuhn values the manner in which children communicate through their play. Depending on the needs of the child or teenager they utilize a combination of structured cognitive behavioral play therapy sessions which provide psychoeducational information with more process oriented approaches. When working with families Dr. Kuhn utilizes techniques from their extensive training in Theraplay to increase the attachment between parents and children.
